If Engine Co. 3 is good enough for Obama, it's good enough for me. And it sure was good.
President Obama visited this breakfast/lunch/brunch spot back in 2016, but this restaurant has been a local favorite since its inception. Engine Co. 3 is a sister restaurant to La Merenda, so there's no surprise the food is killer.
Housed in a restored fire station, Engine Co. 3 has old cream city brick, large garage doors, and small hidden details that bring the fire house theme to life. Vines spread and surround the building, while original and tasty creations are curated inside. Take a walk upstairs to find a second bar and a set of couches where you can enjoy a mimosa or bloody if you have to wait. If it's nice outside, enjoy a table just inside when the doors are open or on their limited patio.
This place has all the vibes and all the brunch feels. I visited Engine Co. 3 with a couple of my girls and enjoyed the PB&J french toast, smothering my taste buds with the perfect level of sweetness. Peanut butter battered Troubador brioche and seasonal jam make this spin on a childhood favorite the perfect brunch option. Let's not forget to satisfy those savory taste buds and get a side of the baby reds. The crispy side of taters satisfied all my savory needs.
Engine Co. 3 does brunch right. From the atmosphere to the food and drinks, they bring fresh life to the Milwaukee food scene. A heavy hitter in a field full of great options, Engine Co. 3 knows how to play the brunch game.
